From the Battalion Commander:

Welcome to our website. The 648th Engineer Battalion (Sapper) is part of the 48th Separate Infantry Brigade (Mechanized) of the Georgia Army National Guard. There are 15 enhanced brigades in the Army National Guard inventory and seven of those are organized as heavy separate brigades. Additionally there are seven air assault brigades and one armored cavalry regiment.

As the commander of the 648th, I’m very proud of our organization and of our contributions to our great nation. We serve a vital role in support of the maneuver force and are a great combat multiplier.

I want to humbly offer my gratitude to all Soldiers and families. For the Soldiers of this great organization, your deeds and dedication are an important element in the defense of our nation. I know the families also endure hardships and their actions have been exemplary and have impacted us in so many positive ways. I can only say from the bottom of my heart that you are all national treasures and your contributions will not be forgotten.

Sincerely,

MAJ Davis
